They’re here to ensure our charity maintains the highest standards of performance, governance, accountability, transparency and cost to fundraising ratios. They maintain a close relationship with our CEO and associated teams, reviewing performance and providing guidance where needed. They are skills-based appointments, with members each bringing a wide range of expertise and experience. In keeping with our focus on minimising administrative costs, all board members are graciously donating their time for their directorships.

This dream team have volunteered their expertise to various aspects of the charity. They have a diverse and rich background which our CEO is able to tap into to help develop strategies, operational efficiencies and methodologies to improve our targeted impact. We are honoured to have them on board and meet regularly to exchange beard growing tips, business learnings and of course to celebrate the live’s we’ve helped save.
OUR FOUNDER & CEO
Skin Check Champions has grown (excuse the pun) considerably from a fun challenge between mates into what it is today. A lot of this is because one of the founding members decided to keep his beard after the first winter (Beard Season) following Wes Bonny’s death. Every morning when he looked in the mirror, his beard stared back at him. Urging him to keep the idea alive. It worked. And over the course of eight long years, this determined, passionate advocate has taken our charity from a ‘side project’ and turned it into a sustainable, highly impactful, life saving non-profit. As of November 2018, he became the movement’s official CEO. He has never drawn a wage from the charity, but this year, we aim to change that. Investing in the future growth and leadership of Skin Check Champions, a cause we believe deserves to enjoy an inspiring, global presence.
