They’re here to ensure our charity maintains the highest standards of performance, governance, accountability, transparency and cost to fundraising ratios. They maintain a close relationship with our CEO and associated teams, reviewing performance and providing guidance where needed. They are skills-based appointments, with members each bringing a wide range of expertise and experience. In keeping with our focus on minimising administrative costs, all board members are graciously donating their time for their directorships.

Skin Check Champions has grown considerably from a discussion between friends back in 2010 following the tragic death of Wes Bonny. Much of what we are today is due to the dogged determination of it’s founder Scott Maggs – formerly known as Jimmy Niggles Esq. I'm not just passionate about Beard Season because I was among those who started it. I'm passionate about this charity because it works. The number of people who greet us in tears, or send in their stories because we might have saved their lives is a feeling like nothing else. Our simple focus and inspiring community have brought so many people together to make a massive difference. We've turned a trend into something with purpose. Which people from all walks of life can connect with and make their own. My background is advertising. And my dream with every brief is engagement. Real, impactful connection. Which is exactly what our charity is all about. Except instead of sharing creating messages for billboards, TV's, News Papers, Magazines and social media - we're creating them on people's faces. Turning them into walking, talking billboards to champion early detection. A message which is literally saving lives. Something I am honoured to build, along with our inspiring, fast growing team.
