THE DAY WAS SEASED!!
Many a mission was embarked upon in June… and all were a success.
Those of you who were following our stories this month would know that we’ve had a few notable additions to the Skin Check Champions family. The first being a beautiful 2008 Defender which we picked up from a supporter on the South Coast of NSW. This stunning silver beast was soon to be perfectly pared with a 7.7M custom made, stainless steel trailer. Newly christened, ‘The Silver Bullet’.
This brilliant new mobile skin check clinic had to be totally gutted, reweighed and ready for work with Surfing Australia for their inagural Seas The Day event on the NSW / QLD boarder. It was a huge stretch to get done in time but thanks to some very late nights and Dan for flying down from Byron we refitted the Silver Bullet, installed an electric braking system in The Defender, had both of them custom wrapped by Ben from Kingpin Wraps and we hit the road for a two day drive up to the Surfing Australia team.
The whole way there we were turning heads. I’ll never forget driving down the main street of Kingscliff and waving to people who had literally stopped walking to take out their phones and film us driving to set up on the beach. The duo does look phenomenal and we’re so happy to activate it at this wonderful event.
Huge thanks to everyone who visited, including the great Pauline Menczer, Laura Enever and Layne Beachley.
Surfers are apparently six times more likely to do battle with skin cancer so it was really important to be there working with our community partners at Surfing Australia.
