HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
Australia’s National Skin Check Day (ANSCD) was established in 2018 by a friend of our charity – Jason Sprott.
Jason is currently battling terminal stage metastasis melanoma and wanted to establish a date in our national calendar to shine a spotlight on early detection and encourage Aussies to book a skin check.
Jason previously headed up another non-profit called Mates Against Melanoma, but at the start of 2024 he decided to step back to focus on his health and spend more time with his friends and family. As part of this transition, Jason graciously handed over administration of his great initiatives to Skin Check Champions and it is with great honour we continue his legacy and impact on our ‘national cancer’.
